As Chief Economist for GE Healthcare, Mitch Higashi leads a team that is responsible for demonstrating and forecasting the value of technology in healthcare. 

Mitch currently serves on the Board of Directors for the University of Washington Foundation and the ISPOR Health Science Policy Council.

Mitch is a published author in JAMA and his research has been featured in The Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, Bloomberg, EmTech, and The Economist Technology Frontiers.  His team was featured in a Harvard Business School case study describing GE’s efforts to align their R&D programs to solve for cost, quality, and access challenges in health care.  Mitch is a graduate of the University of British Columbia (Biotechnology) and The Wharton School and he holds a PhD in Health Economics from the University of Washington.
