About the Speaker

Dr Thomas Hope

Thomas Hope, MD, is an Assistant Professor in Residence in the Abdominal Imaging and Nuclear Medicine sections at UCSF and the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center. He received his medical degree from Stanford University, and completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the UCSF followed by a clinical fellowship in Body MRI and Nuclear Medicine from Stanford.

Dr. Hope’s main research focus is on novel imaging agents. He is the principle investigator on the Ga-68 DOTA-TOC IND at UCSF and also has Ga-68 PSMA imaging for prostate cancer patients to UCSF. He is combining his interests in MR imaging and nuclear medicine to help further the combined modality, PET/MR.

Finally he has a focus on liver imaging, and is an acting member of the LI-RADS (Liver Imaging Reporting and Data System) steering committee and chairs the LI-RADS outreach and education committee.

Dr. Hope will share his clinical experience with PET/MR. He will present on the approaches and issues encountered with simultaneous imaging, new applications of PET/MR leveraging novel tracers, and MRI of Hepatocellular carcinoma: Technique and Ligands.
