A new design to avoid physical strain

Labour codes are increasingly focused on the health and well being of healthcare professionals, such as radiographers.

For instance, in July 2016, new regulations were established in France to more clearly qualify professional risks, such as heavy lifting, strenuous movements, and repetitive tasks1.

The Senographe Pristina was designed with such considerations in mind.

Position patients comfortably for a streamlined workflow

Increasing patient comfort is critical to improving the mammography experience for both patients and radiographers. Making it easy for radiographers to position patients is also essential. This is why the Senographe Pristina was designed to help radiographers avoid physical strain and to help put patients at ease.

  • Radiographers can position patients while facing them, allowing for better communication throughout the exam
  • Patients can comfortably lean their arms on the soft armrests and relax their pectoral muscles, which can simplify compression and image acquisition
  • The tube head can be moved to a parking position away from the technologist’s head when positioning patients in medio lateral oblique (MLO). This clears the upper space so that the technologist can position the patient without physical strain.
