Reshape the mammography - Senographe Pristina™
SENSITIVE TO PATIENTS
SENSITIVE TO RADIOGRAPHERS
SENSITIVE TO RADIOLOGISTS

Patient experience matters

A 2013 study demonstrated that up to 46% of women in England who did not re-attend the screening program cited pain associated with their previous mammogram as the main reason for their decision.1

A mammogram can feel like an ordeal to some women. So it’s important to be sensitive to their physical, psychological, and emotional needs. If a woman experiences pain or anxiety in relation to her mammogram, she will likely associate that feeling with the exam, limiting her willingness to take the time to return.

The new Senographe Pristina was designed with this in mind

At GE Healthcare, we believe it’s time to ease patient anxieties and improve the entire mammography experience. So we partnered with radiologists, technologists and patients to create a mammography platform that’s sensitive to patient needs, as well as those of radiographers and radiologists.

  • With the self-compression feature, patients can now work with technologists to reach the compression level that is right for them, enabling them to play an active role in managing their exam experience.2
  • The integrated 3D mammography delivers the same radiation dose as a standard 2D acquisition of the same view, freeing patients from worrying about increased radiation exposure with this technique.
  • Even the gantry design was meant to ease patient anxiety, with elegant lighting, rounded shapes, and ergonomic features designed to improve the exam workflow.
